BS in Neuroscience, University of Rochester

I am a current MPH student in the Epidemiology of Microbial Diseases department at Yale University. Originally from Pakistan, I moved to the United States to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience degree from the University of Rochester, After graduating, I spent 3 years as a Research Technician in the Rudensky Lab at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, where I worked on projects investigating the immune system of the female reproductive tract, the effects of tamoxifen on immune function and a treatment strategy for melanoma patients who were resistant to existing anti-PD-1 therapy.

During my time at Memorial Sloan Kettering, I developed a fascination with viruses and began exploring research in this area. My growing interest in viral research and viral vectors led me to Yale, where I was drawn to the opportunity to learn from the amazing faculty who are conducting research in these areas, and to further explore these interests through the lens of public health.

Outside of academics, I love to read, knit and explore everything that New Haven has to offer!
