BS in Molecular and Cell Biology, University of Connecticut
I’m originally from South Korea but grew up across three countries—South Korea, the Philippines, and the United States. I completed my undergraduate degree in Molecular and Cell Biology at the University of Connecticut. After graduating, I joined the Krause lab at the Yale School of Public Health, where I researched tick-borne illnesses, focusing primarily on babesiosis and Lyme disease. Through this experience, I developed my passion for vector-borne diseases, which motivated me to continue research in the field of public health. I am currently pursuing my MS in Epidemiology of Infectious Diseases at the Yale School of Public Health. Here in the Vogels Lab, I am interested in investigating different types of Wolbachia and their inhibition of dengue virus, as well as exploring Powassan virus and its effects on humans and communities. Outside the lab, you’ll likely find me on a tennis court, lost in a good book, playing the violin, or soaking up the sun at the beach.
